Nowhere Networks and Seafy have launched a large-scale deployment to upgrade onboard connectivity across 10 Corsica Ferries vessels, while simultaneously expanding network infrastructure across the Mediterranean.

The rollout marks a significant step in the shift toward hybrid maritime connectivity, combining land-based networks with satellite technologies to deliver higher performance at lower cost.

HYBRID DEPLOYMENT ACROSS 10 VESSELS
Nowhere Networks is accelerating its Mediterranean expansion through a strategic partnership with Italian operator Seafy, who delivers a hybrid connectivity solution for Corsica Ferries.

Under the agreement, Seafy provides the end-customer services, including internet access, portal and user experience, while Nowhere Networks delivers the underlying land based network. Where available, Nowhere Networks’ land-based network is used as the primary bearer, complemented by satellite technologies to ensure full route coverage.

Unlike most providers in the market, Nowhere Networks owns and operates its own land-based network, enabling full control over performance, capacity and cost.

NETWORK EXPANSION ACROSS KEY MEDITERRANEAN ROUTES
At the same time, Nowhere Networks is strengthening its footprint in the region, adding approximately 15 new sites across Italy, France, Corsica, Sardinia and Spain (Mallorca and Menorca).

Corsica Ferries, one of the leading operators in the Mediterranean with over 3.5 million passengers annually, plays an active role in enabling the network expansion across key ports.

“Connectivity is becoming a critical part of both the passenger experience and operational efficiency. This solution gives us the right foundation for the future”, says Pierre Mattei, CEO of Corsica Ferries.

ESTABLISHED PARTNERSHIP WITH SEAFY
The collaboration builds on an established relationship between Nowhere Networks and Seafy, who have worked together for more than two years.

“Combining Nowhere Networks’ land-based infrastructure with complementary technologies creates a solution with high capacity, low latency and strong redundancy. This brings clear advantages for both us and our customers,” says Roberto Verni, Managing Director of Seafy.

As demand for high-performance connectivity at sea continues to grow, hybrid network models are rapidly emerging as the new industry standard.

“This project clearly shows where the market is heading. It’s not just about combining technologies – it’s about controlling the full delivery. By owning and operating our own network as the foundation, and integrating other technologies where needed, we can deliver superior performance at a significantly lower cost – regardless of where the vessel operates", says Asbjörn Frydenlund, CEO of Nowhere Networks.
