Expanding the fleet with Bower Commander

Today Bower Offshore announces the purchase and renaming of the vessel Songa Commander to Bower Commander. Since 2023 Bower has managed the vessel commercially and technically on behalf of Blystad Group.
Bower Commander is a robust high-end PSV built in 2010 by Hellesøy shipyard. The vessel is currently running on a long-term drilling support contract with Adura until July 2027 with option of extension.
A MILESTONE FOR BOWER
The purchase underlines the strategic direction of the company towards a fleet of fully owned offshore vessels and strengthens the position of Bower as a fully integrated shipping company.
– The acquisition is a further step in our strategy to grow with our own tonnage and continue developing an integrated shipping company in the offshore energy market, rooted in the Norwegian maritime cluster, says Karl Johan Bakken, CEO Bower Offshore.
Stability for crew, partners and customers
The current crew of Bower Commander will continue which creates a seamless transition for all parties involved. Combined with our knowledge and experience with the vessel, crew and contracts this is a sound purchase.Bower Offshore operates six vessels in the offshore energy market across oil, gas, renewables in European waters.
