Becker Marine Systems has been awarded a contract by Spanish shipyard Astilleros Gondan S.A. to supply the steering gear for two new hydrographic research vessels.

The vessels are being built for the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH). As part of the project, Becker Marine Systems will also supply the corresponding rudder systems (Becker Heracles High Lift Flap Rudder) and a fully integrated and coordinated manoeuvring system.

The project underlines Becker Marine Systems’ approach of offering steering gear not as a stand-alone component, but as an integral part of a fully integrated manoeuvring system.
