PaleBlue, a leading Norwegian company in advanced simulation technology, has delivered a modern Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) training simulator to a facility at the premises of the Portuguese Maritime Authority. The simulator is operated by the Portuguese company Atlantis Robotics that provides training on the simulator for the Portuguese Navy.

The simulator allows for realistic training of critical subsea operations, enabling a wide range of realistic mission training scenarios.

The simulator is based on PaleBlue’s latest ROV simulation platform, known for its high fidelity and flexibility.

REALISTIC OFFSHORE SCENARIOS
PaleBlue advanced simulation system allows cadets to experience realistic offshore scenarios, including navigation, manipulator operation, subsea installation, emergency response, and fault management procedures. Instructors monitor and evaluate pilot performance in real time, ensuring that theoretical knowledge is seamlessly integrated with high-fidelity practical exercises.

"Advanced simulation is no longer an option, but a strategic necessity to ensure mission success and operational excellence in complex subsea environments," said Giancarlo Icolari, CEO at Atlantis Robotics.

THE FUTURE OF NATIONAL MARITIME SAFETY
“The integration of PaleBlue’s advanced simulation technology represents a quantum leap for Atlantis Robotics and subsea training in Portugal. We are not merely providing a tool; we are architecting the future of national maritime safety, ensuring that the Navy has access to the world’s most high-fidelity technology for mission-critical operations."

“The simulator training done in collaboration with the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute and the Portuguese Maritime Authority demonstrated that the use of the ROV simulator substantially enhanced piloting competencies.”

“We are honored to provide the PaleBlue ROV simulator to Atlantis Robotics, and to see this technology being used in the training of the Portuguese Navy crews,” said Scott Dodson, CGO at PaleBlue.

"Our ROV training simulators have been used by the industry for a number of years, and now we are seeing strong adoption from defence actors around the world. Having delivered a training system to the French Navy last year, it’s gratifying to see the Portuguese Navy trained on our simulator as well."
