Kongsberg Maritime Wins Tender to Deliver Advanced Engine Room Simulator

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded the official tender to deliver a state-of-the-art K-Sim Engine Full Mission and Desktop Simulator system to Aboa Mare Maritime Academy and Training Center in Turku, Finland.

The delivery, scheduled to be completed in Q1, 2026, will include some of the most advanced simulator models available, covering both conventional and next-generation propulsion technologies, such as hybrid, dual-fuel, battery, and methanol-fueled engines. This ensures that Aboa Mare’s students and professional seafarers will gain hands-on training aligned with the global maritime industry’s green transition.

The K-Sim Engine simulator system is fully compliant with STCW requirements and DNV standard ST-0033 and will be delivered with DNV Class A & C certification, ensuring the highest levels of quality and realism in maritime training.

This delivery represents one of Kongsberg Maritime’s most modern simulator systems ever installed in Finland and demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting maritime education as the industry undergoes a fundamental shift toward sustainability.
