Lehmann Marine, a Sunlight Group company, is expanding its operations in the Benelux region and Norway. With new offices in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Trondheim (Norway), the company is strengthening its local presence in two of Europe’s most strategically significant maritime markets.

The locations will function as regional sales and coordination offices. Ruben Wansink is responsible for the Benelux region, while Ola Staverløkk leads Lehmann Marine’s operations in Norway. Both Sales Managers bring more than 20 years of experience in the maritime industry, placing a strong focus on technical solutions, project-based sales, and long-term customer relationships.

LEADING MARKETS
Norway remains one of the leading markets for maritime electrification and alternative propulsion systems. The new Trondheim office reinforces Lehmann Marine’s long-standing commitment to the Nordic region, ensuring closer coordination with local customers and partners. This presence allows existing customers – including system integrators, electrical installation companies, shipowners, and ship designers — to benefit from enhanced on-site support, while providing new customers with access to Lehmann Marine’s safe and compact LFP battery systems.

With an established customer base and a growing number of projects across the Benelux region, the new  Eindhoven office provides a permanent local presence to support the expanding regional portfolio. The office is situated in the historic former Philips research laboratory, where technologies such as CDs and DVDs originated. Eindhoven is recognised as a premier European high-tech hub, boasting a world-class concentration of research, engineering, and manufacturing, particularly in the field of advanced battery technology.

PROVEN QUALITY
Ola Staverløkk comments: “Having worked for more than 20 years in the maritime industry, I am proud to be part of Lehmann Marine, a company known for its proven quality. With the Trondheim office being well situated in the harbour area where several cruise ships arrive and depart every day, our desired destination of equipping such big players with Lehmann Marine’s battery modules one day doesn’t seem impossible. Until then, Norway will offer us a highly dynamic environment for sustainable growth and long-term partnerships. “

And Ruben Wansink adds “It’s such an honour to work with European engineered battery technology whilecontributing to the energy transition. The Benelux region is acting as a pioneer of innovation and setting a strong pace for an environmentally conscious, green future for shipping. The Netherlands has a thriving super yacht industry where electrification and hybrid propulsion is growing. Many shipowners operate fleets for offshore wind, dredging and transport plus a very large inland river merchant fleet, which means that the demand for batteries is high. Moreover, our office in Eindhoven centrally positions us at the heart of Belgium and the Netherlands and close to technological developers.”

REMAIN PIVOTAL
The Benelux region and Norway remain pivotal in driving the evolution of marine battery solutions across Europe. By establishing dedicated local teams, Lehmann Marine ensures more direct communication and seamless project execution for its partners. This expansion marks a key milestone in Lehmann Marine’s structured European growth strategy. As a Sunlight Group company, it remains committed to delivering reliable energy storage systems, ensuring project continuity, and fostering long-term strategic alliances within the maritime sector.

About Lehmann Marine GmbH:

  • Lehmann Marine is a Germany-based leader in the shipping industry’s advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems.
  • The company’s innovative energy solutions are designed to meet the evolving needs of maritime operators, offering safety, reliability, and sustainability through cutting-edge German engineering.
  • The key to success lies in the well-thought-out concept of Lehmann Marine‘s battery systems.
  • The modular and flexible design allows for easy adaptation of the batteries to the individual requirements of various ships.
  • This configurational flexibility, combined with straightforward maintenance due to small and easily accessible battery modules, gives customers unprecedented efficiency and reliability.
  • Another significant advantage is the enhanced safety of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
  • Compared to traditional nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries, LFP batteries are considerably safer, even in extreme situations where thermal runaway may occur, as they are not susceptible to fire.
  • In the event of thermal runaway, only gas is released and vented outside.
  • This feature renders Lehmann Marine‘s LFP battery solutions more environmentally friendly and markedly safer for use on board ships.
  • Lehmann Marine is part of the Sunlight Group, a major global player in energy storage systems, and benefits from Sunlight’s large capacities and excellent supplier and service network.
