Norwegian Greentech has entered into an agreement with Nordic Halibut AS to deliver a complete water treatment system for the company’s new halibut facility in Torjulvågen, Tingvoll.
The delivery includes treatment of both intake and discharge water and features an integrated control system providing real-time monitoring and management of water quality and process parameters.
The solution combines advanced water treatment technology with energy-efficient processes, developed to meet the strictest requirements for biosecurity, environmental performance, and operational reliability. The system ensures optimal water quality throughout the entire production cycle and enables continuous monitoring and control.
AN IMPORTANT STEP
“This contract represents an important step in our continued growth within the aquaculture industry,” says Børge Gjelseth, Senior Vice President Commercial at Norwegian Greentech. “By delivering a complete solution that includes both process equipment and an overall control system, we contribute to efficient operations in a facility that sets a new standard for sustainable halibut production.”
The integrated control system allows Nordic Halibut to monitor and manage water treatment throughout the facility, with functions for logging, reporting, and remote support. This provides increased operational reliability and documented water quality in line with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
“It is essential for us to establish a production facility that meets the highest standards for fish welfare, environmental protection, and operational reliability,” says Gunnar Brekstad of Nordic Halibut AS. “Norwegian Greentech delivers a comprehensive solution that enables strong water quality monitoring and confidence in sustainable production.”
The project strengthens Norwegian Greentech’s position as a supplier of water treatment systems for the aquaculture industry and highlights the company’s role as a key contributor to the development of future environmentally responsible seafood production.
“This project strengthens our position as a supplier of water treatment systems to the aquaculture industry and supports the company’s ambition to contribute to more environmentally friendly and responsible seafood production,” says Gunnar Larsen, CEO of HAV Group ASA.
“This is yet another contract in land-based aquaculture, a key strategic growth area for HAV Group and Norwegian Greentech. It underlines the solid progress we are making toward becoming a leading player in sustainable land-based fish farming solutions,” Larsen says.
