Olympic awarded long-term contract with Aker
Olympic is pleased to announce that the vessel Olympic Notos has been awarded a five-year contract with Aker BP, with options for an additional five years. This marks a significant milestone for Olympic and further strengthens the long-term commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable offshore operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The Olympic Notos, a state-of-the art hybrid-powered CSOV based on the ULSTEIN SX222 design, will serve as a Walk-to-Work (W2W) vessel for Aker BP’s Purpose-built with a focus on low emissions, high operability, and superior crew comfort, the vessel is ideally suited for year-round operations in the North Sea.
For unmanned installations, such as Munin and Fenris, the gangway will be connected to the installation as long as there are personnel on board the platform. W2W will also function as the primary escape route. Olympic is proud to support this pioneering approach with the Olympic Notos, which meets Aker BP’s rigorous standards for gangway operations, ensuring seamless and secure platform access.
EXCEPTIONAL FUEL EFFICIENCY
The Olympic Notos, and her sister vessel Olympic Boreas, have consistently demonstrated exceptional fuel efficiency in operations, earning high praise from major clients across the offshore wind market. Feedback highlights the vessels’ unique combination of comfort, operability, and fuel efficiency.
"We are pleased to be selected by Aker BP for this strategic partnership," said VP Commercial | Renewables, Frode Andreassen. "This contract reflects our long-standing focus on innovation, quality, and operational excellence. With Olympic Notos, we’re delivering not only a vessel—but a long-term solution for safe and sustainable offshore access."
TOTAL BACKLOG TO MORE THAN 5 BILLION NOK
“This contract brings Olympic’s total backlog across oil and gas and renewables to more than 5 billion NOK,” said Stig Remøy, CEO of Olympic. “It’s a clear endorsement of our flexible fleet, our people, and our long-term strategy for sustainable offshore operations.”
The contract is scheduled to commence in 2026, and the vessel will go into continuous operation in the Yggdrasil area from the fourth quarter that same year.
